Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang marked his Arsenal debut with a goal, albeit from an offside position.
The striker joined the Gunners in a club-record £60m deal on Deadline Day from Borussia Dortmund.
And, despite having been ill in the week, he started against Everton on Saturday along with former Dortmund team-mate Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Aubameyang missed a chance to score in the 32nd but made amends shortly afterwards with a clever chipped finish over Jordan Pickford, although replays showed he was clearly offside.
